The United States (US) Department of State has announced the easing of visa restrictions on Ghana, a release said here on Thursday.
The visa restrictions were imposed last February due to Ghana’s inability to accept the return of 7,000 Ghanaian nationals that the US wanted to deport.
This development paves the way for the processing of visas for the employees of Ghana’s executive and legislature, as well as their spouses and children under 21 years to return to normal.
“The decision follows the establishment of a mutually agreed process for identification, validating and issuance of travel documentation to Ghanaian citizens under final orders of removal in a manner consistent with international standards issued by the international civil aviation organization,” the release said.
