Valley View University (VVU) and the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana have jointly awarded Ms. Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), an honorary citation for her unwavering dedication to fostering spiritual growth and interfaith unity.
The Church and its affiliate university also acknowledged the Renado Foundation, set up by Naa Torshie Addo to support the needy, build interfaith development and unity, and strengthen individual and organisational growth based on Christian principles.
A citation, presented during Valley View University’s 43rd graduation ceremony, acknowledges Naa Torshie Addo’s exceptional commitment to supporting pilgrimages to Jerusalem for leaders of all Christian denominations through her esteemed NGO, the Renado Foundation.
A copy of the citation obtained by the Communication for Development and Advocacy (CDA Consult), communicate2develop@gmail.com, a development communication advocacy non-governmental organisation based in Tema, Ghana, has been revealed.
This remarkable endeavour has been ongoing for several years, providing countless believers with a unique opportunity to deepen their faith and experience the Biblical faith in the Holy Land firsthand.
The citation reads: “Her efforts have not only strengthened participants’ spiritual lives but have also fostered unity and collaboration among different faith communities.
“Ms. Irene Naa Torshie Addo’s dedication exemplifies the true spirit of service and commitment to the greater good, inspiring all.
“Therefore, on the occasion of the 43rd Graduation Ceremony of Valley View University, we present this citation to Ms. Irene Naa Torshie Addo and her foundation, to the glory of God.”
The citation was endorsed by prominent leaders, including Pastor Dr Thomas Techie Ocran, President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists; Pastor Dr Kwame Annor Boahen, President of the Northern Ghana Union Conference; and Professor William Kofi Koomson, Vice Chancellor of Valley View University.
The recognition also included a heartfelt blessing, quoting Deuteronomy 28:12, “May the Lord continue to open for you the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to send rain on your land in its season, and to bless the work of your hands.”

Naa Torshie Addo noted in her acceptance speech: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humility as I accept this prestigious citation. Your recognition of my humble efforts is a testament to the power of faith and service.
“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the church leadership and university administration for this honour. Your acknowledgement of my work reminds me that our labour is not in vain, and I am deeply grateful.
“My love for God and my country has always driven my service. I believe that our talents and resources are gifts from God, and we are responsible for using them to bless others.
“I am committed to continuing my service to the Christian family, promoting unity, and fostering spiritual growth.”
Naa Torshie Addo described the citation as a personal honour and a testament to the impact we can make when working together towards a common goal.
