…After Disciplinary Committee Refuses To Address The Matter

Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan, the financiers of the two victims, who were defrauded by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso North Constituency, Mr. Ibrahim Sannie of $12,000 under false pretences of securing visas and travel documents for them to United States of America (USA), have taken a decision to drag the matter to the court for refund of their funds.

They stated that they have no option than to resort legal action against Mr Sannie after the Disciplinary Committee of the NPP headed by Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong refused to address the matter which was officially brought to the notice of the Committee.

It would be recalled that, a petition has been filed with the New Patriotic Party’s Disciplinary Committee by the financiers of two individuals, Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan, accusing Mr. Ibrahim Sannie, of defrauding them in a visa scam involving $12,000.

The three-page petition dated Monday October 21, 2024, submitted to the NPP headquarters in Accra, alleges that Mr. Sannie agreed to secure USA visas for two people, Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah, for a fee of $6,000 each.

The petition which was filed on Tuesday October 22, 2024 exactly 12:30 pm was received by one Alex at the reception at the NPP headquarters in Accra and that it was addressed to the General Secretary of the NPP, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong.

These two individuals, Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah, were defrauded by the NPP PC of their $12,000 after Mr. Ibrahim Sannie promised to secure VISA for them to travel to the United States of America (USA).

Sadly, one of the two victims of Mr. Sannie is dead on Tuesday October 23, 2024 out of the frustration he allegedly gone through since the incident.

Unfortunately, Osei Augustine died an hour time on Tuesday October 22, 2023 after their financiers, Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan through their power attorney filed the petition with the New Patriotic Party’s Disciplinary Committee.

Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah through their financiers, Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan paid $6,000 each to Mr Sannie by for two years, they have been pursuing Mr Sannie for refund of their money because the deal didn’t go through as expected, but to no avail.

The deal, struck in July 2022, involved securing travel documents for the two individuals, Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah to travel to the United States for one month.

However, two years have passed, and Mr. Sannie has reportedly failed to deliver on his promise despite receiving the full payment. The NPP PC has promised a chartering flight for the two to go to the USA.

The persistence delay had caused significant personal and professional distress, with both Augustine and Amponsah losing their jobs in the hospitality industry and fuel station.

Sadly, Osei Augustine lost his life after these years of frustration and emotional damage caused as result of the fraud by the NPP PC.

Weeping uncontrollably, the visibly distraught Blessed Amponsah blamed the death of his colleague on NPP PC, saying that “We are holding Ayawaso North NPP PC, Ibrahim Sannie for being responsibly for the untimely death my brother Osei Augustine because we are supposed to be in Ghana by now.”

Additionally, the financier Madam Abena Ahenkan told journalists that “After Mr Sannie failed, we have officially written a letter to inform him that we have given a power of attorney to Mr Freeman Koryekpor Awlesu to laisse with him to go into payment term on how he would be Abe to repay the money $12,000 to us, but many efforts for Mr Freeman Koryekpor Awlesu to let Mr Sannie pays the money have proved unsuccessfully.

However, the persistence failure on the part of Mr Sannie has informed their decision to sort to petition the NPP Disciplinary Committee to ensure justice prevails in the matter.

“We are fed up with the empty promises of Mr. Sannie and now demand a full refund of the $12,000,” said Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Ahenkan in their petition to the leadership of the NPP,” Madam Ahenka noted.

They recounted how, after paying the initial $9,000, Mr. Sannie requested an additional $3,000 in August 2022, assuring her that the travel arrangements were in place.

Despite these reassurances, the promised visas and travel arrangements never materialized.

The petition details multiple instances where Mr. Sannie allegedly made false promises, claiming the travel was imminent and even requesting food items for the supposed travellers.

In the face of repeated excuses, the petitioners have lost faith in the process and are demanding the return of their funds.

“We are no longer interested in having Mr. Sannie secure the travel documents and demand the immediate refund of our money,” the petition concludes, urging the NPP Disciplinary Committee to act swiftly to resolve the matter.

The petitioners warned that if the issue is not addressed promptly, they will be forced to take further action.

The NPP Disciplinary Committee has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
