The mayor, who was on his house to house campaign tour in Mamprobi interacted with people including children who he met as he walked through the community explaining the NDC’s vision and his own agenda for transformation to them.

People, came out to welcome him as he passed on could not hide their admiration when the Mayor, Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, took keen interest in what the people do on daily bases for a living.

The whole community was charged with the slogans “Tsentse,” JM Toaso among others when the Mayor was seen helping practically a ‘kelewele,’ fried fish and banku sellers.

The Ablekuma South NDC Candidate exhibited his cooking skills as he took a ladle from a banku seller and did the cooking himself whilst the woman and other people watched in admiration.

The story was not different when he stopped by women who were frying ‘kelewele’ and fish.

Speaking to some electorates, they felt enthused at the presence of the Mayor in their community even though majority of them admitted that was not the first time the Mayor visited the area with high spirit of commitment to help develop the area.

They indicated that, the good works of the Mayor and the NDC are manifest in the community considering the level of developmental projects the Mayor brought to the community especially in areas of education.

“This is not the first time the Mayor is coming here. We have been with him, since he started the Millennium City School projects. He has been here from the beginning and to the completion of most of these schools. Today, we are all happy to see him again and we are assuring him of our immense support on December 7,” a 70 year old woman said amid great joy as she danced to the NDC anthem.

He charged the people to make the decision to vote massively for development, progress, and better future for children in the coming elections.

According to him, when the people make the decision to vote for the NDC in the December election, they will be making no mistakes but be voting for a better, brighter future for generations to come, “…a future for our children, a future which will not be taken for granted,” he said.

He said, the massive investments the NDC government has made in the area of education is evident in the over 100 Millennium City schools being constructed, some of which have been completed, commissioned and are in use.

Dr. OkoeVanderpuije also indicated that the Mahama-led government is investing in people and communities. “The NDC government under President John Mahama is investing in people, their future, and is investing in our cities,” he added.

He attacked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for doing nothing in their eight (8) years in power to lift the educational standard of the people in Ablekuma South.

According to him, through his tireless efforts and government’s support, he is able to end the shift system which is one of the major feats the NDC chalked as far as education and the future of children are concern.

He said, the NPP has lost it all and that it is all clear that the NPP will lose massively in the coming elections hence the party has decided to embark on a smear campaign and politics of deceit so as to hoodwink the people into voting for the NPP.

“Their plans will fail. The people can see for themselves that, eight years of NPP is 0

ZERO. Four years of the NDC is gargantuan projects. So it is obvious which party we must vote for. If we decide to vote for NPP which did nothing in eight years, then we must know where we are heading to as a nation. And if we chose to vote for NDC which did massively in just four years, then I can tell you we have a future.”

He pointed out that the NPP as a political party has no better plans for the people of Ghana and so is always bent on destroying good visions of leaders who are ready to serve and to make lives better.

According to the Mayor, it is clear that the NPP did all it could to destroy the economy of Ghana during their eight years in power, and that it took President Mills and John Mahama four years to revamp the economy and put it on a sound footing.
