After a 12-year incarceration, the influential Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel has emerged with a powerful message for the youth, marking a significant moment in his ongoing legal battle for justice.

In a viral video capturing his first moments of freedom following an order from the Jamaican Court of Appeal, the 48-year-old artiste, also known as Adidja Palmer, delivered a powerful message. He advised the youth to steer clear of crime, emphasizing that time spent in prison is a waste of life. His words, ‘Tell di youth ’em fi stay outta crime, it nuh worth it, a waste a life, a waste a time Breda,’ resonate with hope for a better future.

“Tell di youth ’em fi to stay outta crime. It’s not worth it. It’s a waste of life, a waste of time, Breda,” he earnestly stated as friends escorted him to a waiting vehicle.

Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants were incarcerated in connection with the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, although his conviction was recently overturned due to juror misconduct.

The Jamaican Court of Appeal ruled against a retrial, leading to their release.’
