The Overlord of the Waala Traditional Council, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, has urgently appealed to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for immediate assistance in addressing a disturbing wave of serial killings targeting guards in Wa.
During a recent visit by Vice President Bawumia, who is also the chairman of the Ghana Police Council, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV expressed grave concern over the safety of the local community, particularly vulnerable guards who have been victims of these brutal attacks.
“We implore you to use your office to enhance the capacity of the Wa and Upper West Police Command with additional personnel and logistics such as patrol vehicles,” Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV stated emphatically.
Highlighting proactive measures, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV announced plans to mobilize community resources through a General Appeal to support a newly commissioned Neighbourhood Watch Committee to assist security services in apprehending the perpetrators.
The recent resurgence of these crimes has revived traumatic memories of similar incidents in 2022, creating widespread fear and prompting urgent calls for enhanced security measures in the region.
Local authorities and traditional leaders, led by Wa Naa, are actively seeking solutions to restore peace and ensure the safety of residents amidst ongoing investigations into these heinous crimes.
