Apart from long term engagement with traditional authorities and opinion leaders, it is fishing for low voices whose day to day concerns on their operations are hardly heard.
Mrs Harriet Wereko Brobbey, Head of Corporate Affairs, WAPCO, told journalists during a massive clean up exercise around its Regulating and Metering Station in Tema.
WAPCo has so far donated three skips to help the residents of Bankuman in Tema Newtown to properly manage their waste.
She said a waste management company has been engaged to cart the refuse as and when needed.
Mrs Wereko Brobbey said the gas transporter was also holding discussions with the Tema Metropolitan Assembly(TMA) and Tema Traditional Council (TTC) on how best to protect the company’s right of way from encroachers.
She appealed to the residents to stay away from the pipelines because any form of explosion would record many human and material casualties.
According to her, WAPCo has so far built a Maternity Block at Tema Newtown, given out 55 scholarships and helped 15 people to acquire livelihood enhancing skills.
