Mrs Harriet Wereko Brobbey, Head of Corporate Affairs, WAPCO, told journalists during a massive clean up exercise around its Regulating and Metering Station in Tema.

WAPCo has so far donated three skips to help the residents of Bankuman in Tema Newtown to properly manage their waste.

She said a waste management company has been engaged to cart the refuse as and when needed.
Mrs Wereko Brobbey said the gas transporter was also holding discussions with the Tema Metropolitan Assembly(TMA) and Tema Traditional Council (TTC) on how best to protect the company’s right of way from encroachers.

She appealed to the residents to stay away from the pipelines because any form of explosion would record many human and material casualties.
