We Believe in the Mawuko Afadzinu led Administration – Table Tennis Players

The players fraternity of Ghana Table Tennis, GTTPA, has officially reaffirmed their decisions in the ongoing court brouhaha between the current Mawuko Afadzinu led administration and supposed IMC group.

The supposed IMC group on 24th October, 2023 instituted a writ summon against the Mawuko Afadzinu led administration, seeking among others that the continued tenure of Mawuko Afadzinu as the National chairman was invalid and breach of the association’s constitution.

However, the Ghana Table Tennis Players Association, GTTPA, in relation to the speculated, issued a detailed statement expressing their confidence and trust in the current president, Mawuko Afadzinu.

The statement signed by the president, Eric Ofori Addo and released on 3rd January, 2024 declared that the players fraternity hold no knowledge of any court writ but are aware of the court case.

Its also stated emphatically and disclaimed no connection with one Mr Naa Abdulai Abdul-Razak, who claimed to be the chairman of the supposed Interim Management Committee.

The statement also highlighted the importance of elevating playing standards, striving for professionalism, fostering trust, eliminating favoritism and cultivating healthy relationships among members.

In a separate interview with this portal, Mr. Eric Ofori Addo, the president of the players association, called on all stakeholders to support the current president Mawuko Afadzinu and his executives.

He added that, the current administration has managed to successfully placed the sport on the highest peak across the country and Africa as a whole.

Eric Addo also mentioned that he is currently expanding his knowledge in the sport to help groom and guide upcoming ones in the local communities across the country to help young ones rise with the right techniques and skills.

Eric Ofori Addo is a certified ITTF level 1 coach and also a certified International Table Tennis Umpire.
