The World Economic Forum has unveiled its 2024 cohort of Technology Pioneers, featuring 100 companies at the forefront of applying new advancements in AI to drive innovation in clean energy, healthcare, biotech, space, and neurotechnology.

These companies, predominantly from the US, China, and India, are poised to play a crucial role in shaping global initiatives over the next two years, with a focus on sustainability and equitable decision-making.

“This year’s Technology Pioneers are revolutionizing industries on a global scale,” said Verena Kuhn, Head of Innovator Communities at the World Economic Forum. “These innovators are leveraging the most advanced technologies to drive the radical changes needed to confront the world’s most urgent challenges.”

The 2024 cohort reflects the significant growth in the space industry, with nine space companies represented, including satellite makers, in-space manufacturers, and space data companies. Additionally, neurotechnology is experiencing rapid innovation, with four start-ups focusing on this area. Clean technology is also well-represented, with companies pioneering carbon capture, regenerative agriculture, alternative proteins, and nuclear fusion, among others.

The selected start-ups, from 23 countries and with a third led by female chief executives, have made significant breakthroughs and are on explosive growth trajectories. They will contribute to Forum initiatives and engage with stakeholders from the public and private sectors, starting with the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2024 in Dalian, China.
