The Western North Regional Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lauded the government for giving financial clearance to employ Environmental Health officers and Assistants who completed their course of study at the schools of hygiene in Accra, Ho and Tamale from 2010 to 2019.

The Regional Communication Directorate in a statement copied to the GNA expressed worry why students who graduated in 2010, six clear years before the previous administration exited power did not put in place measures to employ them.

The statement signed by Mr Felix Foster Ackaah, Regional Communication officer, said the decision to employ graduates of schools of hygiene from 2010 to 2016 is a clear indication that the NPP government was the only administration that had the interest of the Ghanaian youth at heart.

“We express our profound gratitude to the President for thinking outside the box by giving financial clearance to employ graduates who completed their course of study years before his assumption of office as President.

The approval according to the release, would argument existing capacity to improve on the implementation of environmental health and sanitation policies and programmes and reduce the burden on parents catering for their wards after spending so much on them when they were in school.

“This can only be achieved under your able leadership and you have demonstrated that your government is committed to putting the youth who are the future leaders first”

The statement asked the electorates especially the youth to renew the mandate of President Nana Addo Daunkwa Akufo-Addo in the next general election to ensure that students would not have to stay at home for more years before getting employed.

The statement alleged that in the unlikely event that the NDC and former President Mahama wins the upcoming Presidential elections, they would freeze employment into the public sector as it happened some years back.
