Ghana winger Ishmael Yartey has left French club Sochaux after just one season at the club, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year-old joined French Ligue 1 club last season after a memorable year for him in the Swiss top-flight with Servette.
Yartey joined Sochaux for 2.5 million euros with high hopes of making an impact in one of the top leagues of Europe.
However, the lack of playing time in the French top-flight has forced him to end his contract with the club early to seek opportunities elsewhere.
His top form in Switzerland let to a call-up to the Black Stars but since his move to France he has not had enough playing time to convince the coach.
He played just ten matches in Ligue 1 with one assist.
GHANAsoccernet.com insiders says he is likely to return to Switzerland where he is expected to sign a four-year contract with Sion.
