In a heartening reconciliation, Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, the King and Overlord of Gonja Kingdom, has bestowed his blessings upon Samuel A. Jinapor following a visit to clarify recent controversies.

Jinapor, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, had been barred from the Jakpa Palace amid allegations surrounding the Damongo Chieftaincy dispute.

However, after Jinapor met with government officials to explain his stance, Yagbonwura expressed satisfaction with his explanations.

The dispute arose from allegations that Jinapor had interfered in local chieftaincy matters and resisted personnel changes within traditional councils. Jinapor vehemently denied these claims, asserting his respect for Gonjaland’s cultural institutions.

A delegation led by Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, facilitated discussions between Jinapor and the Yagbonwura to resolve the misunderstanding.

Following these discussions, the Yagbonwura welcomed Jinapor back to the Jakpa Palace and endorsed him as a “worthy grandson.”

Acknowledging Jinapor’s humility and commitment to resolving the issue, Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I blessed Jinapor and extended his welcome to other palaces across Gonjaland.

The reconciliation marks a significant step towards restoring harmony between Jinapor and the Gonja Kingdom, emphasizing mutual respect and understanding in local governance and traditional affairs.
