Yango returns lost items to riders


Ride-hailing services provider Yango, says it is committed to deepening investments into tech-based innovations aimed at boosting the safety and convenience of riders who patronise the service.

According to the company, one major advantage that it brings to the domestic ride-hailing market and users of the app is its reinforced security features that provide seamless and safe transport to its riders.

“One of the major advantages that Yango offers to its users is the reinforced security. We can never talk about it enough. In addition to this, the photo verification of our drivers and digital confirmation of their identity, regular digital checks of the condition of the vehicle as well the option for rider feedbacks are part of our digital solutions that offer seamless safety and comfort for users of Yango,” the company said in a media release.

The Yango app incorporates artificial intelligence and an SOS feature that reassures the customer about safety while every driver is rated to offer the best service to users of the service.

“Also, as a way of tracking behaviour and conduct, drivers are assigned a score, which changes according to the type of feedback rider feedbacks on the basis of the journeys made and those with low ratings are automatically disconnected from the system,” the statement added.

The ride-hailing services provider says it has deployed app-based solutions that enable the rider to share itinerary with family and friends and to report instances of threat during the journey.

For items lost during ride time, an inventory recently shared by the ride-hailing company showed that about fifty objects comprising pairs of shoes, smartphones, ipads, headphones and wigs have been found in taxis within the last three months, all of which were returned to their owners.

“For lost items, users have the option of contacting Yango’s customer service through the app to retrieve the item, in most cases, customer assistance service is able to offer real time support.
Indeed, Yango receives dozens of items lost by users which are returned to their owners. This to remind users that nothing is ever lost with Yango and our drivers are the most honest on the market,” the statement said.
