The European Union is providing 2.5 million euros (2.75 million dollars) in aid to Palestinian refugees in Syria’s Yarmouk camp, in response to a “dramatically deteriorating” situation, its executive says.wpid-YarmoukCamp.jpg

“The suffering of civilians in Yarmouk camp is reaching intolerable levels,” says EU Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Christos Stylianides. “I strongly urge all parties to the conflict to allow immediate and unconditional humanitarian access.”

The money will allow the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) to deliver life-saving assistance to refugees through cash and emergency relief items, the European Commission says.
