Kofi Baah Agyepong, CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has called on the government to employ YEA-trained and certified artisans in the Agenda 111 Priority Health Infrastructure Project.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for the YEA Skills Training Programme in Techiman, Bono East Region, Agyepong underscored the potential of these artisans to significantly contribute to national development, instilling a sense of optimism in the audience.
The Agenda 111 project, part of President Akufo-Addo’s initiative to build 111 hospitals nationwide, aims to enhance healthcare access across all districts and regions.
Agyepong urged the government to incorporate these skilled professionals into the project, reiterating the value of utilizing local talent and making the audience feel the importance of their role in the project.
“These skilled professionals are ready to contribute to the nation’s growth; we urge the government to immediately include these artisans in all Agenda 111 projects,” Agyepong stated, emphasizing the need for immediate action.
He also advocated for a policy ensuring that YEA-trained artisans receive priority in government projects at the district level, asserting the importance of leveraging local expertise.
