A newly launched e-learning language provider, Study Twi, reveals this research as it sees a huge demand in online Twi lessons during the pandemic.

Many young Ghanaians living in the UK, America, Germany, Australia, Italy, The Netherlands and more are amongst those vigilantly learning Twi.

Digital learning is the quickest growing market in the education industry, with a whopping 900% growth since 2000, according to KPMG. With this in mind, the co-founders of Study Twi created an e-learning platform to teach the Ghanaian language, Twi, across the globe.

Due to Ghana’s success in ‘The Year of Return,’ Study Twi collaborated with Afrochella to provide fun and essential Twi phrases for the festival, which reached over 12,000 people and gained hundreds of downloads.

What’s more, the call for more Black men and women to dominate leadership spaces has also caused many to support black owned businesses.

For those in the diaspora looking to do business with African companies, it’s wise to speak the local language, in fact, 96% of Study Twi learners say they can recognise when someone is speaking Twi. Learning Twi can also boost career prospects, employment opportunities and client acquisition within Ghanaian markets.

Study Twi’s online Twi lessons are suitable for all ages and backgrounds. 70% of Study Twi learners say they would like to improve both their speaking and listening skills through online Twi lessons.

Thus, making it ideal for those in the diaspora who are interested in Ghanaian culture and wish to learn for either personal, business or travel purposes.
