The Founder and Leader of the Gethsemane Victory International Ministry, Prophet Francis Cudjoe has stated that youth delinquency is a major problem confronting the nation, and has called for concerted efforts to help curb this societal menace.
Speaking in an interview with The Moment, Prophet Francis Cudjoe disclosed that, about 54 percent of Ghanaian youth have become wayward.
According to him, the situation is as a result of the use of drugs alcohol, tobacco, Indian hemp, cocaine, heroin, cannabis as well as other hard drugs.
Though he admitted that some of these children came from Christian homes, he stressed that parents of these children could be blame for failing to inculcate in their children Christian principles and norms.
He said the problem now poses a serious challenge to religious groups, parents and the government to do more to help change the trend.
According to him, the future of the country’s teeming youth is bleak if nothing is done about their situation.
He pointed out that majority of these wayward youth are boys in their prime stages who should have been in school or on the jobs market.
He again blamed the situation on peer pressure, but noted that, that could be as a result of the neglect of parental care, control and parental association with their children.
