Actress and producer Yvonne Nelson has shared the personal sacrifices she made while establishing her Yvonne Nelson International School, revealing that she sold her house, a place filled with memories, to complete the project.
Her personal sacrifices are a testament to her dedication and should be appreciated by all.
In a recent interview, Nelson bravely discussed the significant financial hurdles she encountered during the school’s construction, highlighting her unwavering determination and resilience.
She recounted running out of money and being unable to secure affordable loans due to high interest rates. As a result, she was compelled to sell her home and other properties to fund the project.
“It is crazy because, at a point, I had to sell my house,” Nelson said. “When we started the project, I went to the banks for a loan, but the interest rates were unreasonable.
So, I decided to sell my house, which held many memories for me, and use the proceeds to continue building the school.”

Nelson emphasized that the school, which currently serves as a primary institution, represents only the initial phase of her vision.
Despite the financial and personal sacrifices, Nelson’s unwavering optimism about the school’s future impact shines through.
“I am hopeful about the outcome,” Nelson stated. “The school will positively influence its students and contribute to developing future leaders in Ghana. The difficulties were worth it for this greater cause.”
