The Zambian government on Monday commended the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) for providing technical support to various programs and projects of the southern African nation.
Emmanuel Mwamba, Zambia’s ambassador to Ethiopia and permanent representative to the African Union (AU), said the technical support has helped the government enhance implementation of programs and projects.
In remarks delivered when he presented letters of credence as permanent representative to the UNECA to Vera Songwe, the UN under-secretary and UNECA executive secretary, the Zambian envoy said the UN is collaborating with the Zambian government in giving technical support to programs such as the 2020 national census, the 7th National Development Plan and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA), according to a release.
Zambia is the current host of the UNECA sub-regional office for the southern African region.
Songwe, for her part, commended Zambia for its steadfast development agenda. Enditem
