Zambia COVID-19 cases rise to 48

Zambia’s COVID-19 cases have now increased to 48 following the recording of three new cases, health officials said on Wednesday.

The country recorded three new cases after 150 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative figure to 48 since March 18 when the first case was reported.

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said the three cases were detected following 150 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

He said the increase in transmission of the disease through contacts was a source of concern hence the government’s call for people to maintain social distance.
