Ghana?s World Cup qualifying opponents, Zambia, are to stick with tradition and train in Johannesburg ahead of their World Cup qualifier later this month.

The team use the same hotel and training facilities in Johannesburg ahead of all international assignments after it proved lucky for them ahead of the 2012 African Nations Cup.

They face Lesotho in a World Cup qualifier in Maseru on March 24 and will be based in Johannesburg in the days leading up to the game, the Football Association of Zambia have announced.

The team are due to travel to Johannesburg next Friday and on Sunday March 19 will be completed by the arrival of the foreign-based players plus their South African-based contingent.

Zambia are the top of Group D standings and looking to extend their lead over Ghana in their bid to get to a first-ever World Cup place.

Coach Herve Renard had his squad in camp for three weeks in Johannesburg before they went onto win the Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

They were also at the same venue before the 2013 finals before moving to Nelspruit, where they failed to get past the first round in defence of their title.
