The Zambian business community on Friday pledged to work with the Chinese counterparts in various economic sectors as a way of contributing effectively to the growth of the Zambia’s economy.
Fred Musonda, president of Chingola Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the Zambian business community has embraced their Chinese counterparts.
“The Chinese enterprises have opened business centers in the entire Copperbelt province and the country as a whole, a sign of being embraced by the local people,” he said.
In an interview with Xinhua, Musonda said members of the association that have been attending the trade Expo forums in China have learnt a lot from the international fora.
“The work culture of our Chinese colleagues is encouraging to all of us, as Zambians, we also look forward to ensure we play a role in the development of Zambia,” he said.
Wang Xin, Zambia Chinese Association Copperbelt branch president, is happy with Zambians’ hospitality.
Wang said the association is there to foster friendship with Zambian counterparts in promoting mutual understanding between all stakeholders.
“We have seen Chinese entrepreneurs establishing their businesses without any difficulty, in Zambia we are brothers and sisters,” he said.
Matthew Kaoma, a Chingola resident, said Zambia and China share a lot in common in terms of their hospitality to visitors.
Kaoma said the Chinese enterprises being established have created jobs for the Zambian youths.
“Our appeal to Zambian government is to bring in Chinese manufacturing, agro-processing companies to Zambia for creation of thousands of jobs,” Kaoma said. Enditem
