Zambia would fully benefit from its diplomatic relations with China if it taps into the Chinese way of doing things and begins to aggressively advance economic diplomacy, says a Zambia expert.
“The 55 years of our diplomatic relations with China have been good,” Misheck Mwanza, who is an economist and immediate past director of Zambia Institute for Diplomacy and International Studies.
“But we need to be more aggressive and engage China more in commercial endeavors. Both China and Zambia are burning with opportunities,” said Mwanza.
“China has the technology and we have natural resources in abundance. That is a good starting point for engagements (to) yield meaningful dividends for either party,” Mwanza said.
According to him, Zambia remains a great place for investors looking to invest in agriculture and food processing because it has in place most of what is needed to flourish in these sectors. Enditem
