Zambian government approves revised child development blueprint


The Zambian Cabinet has approved a revised draft national child policy and its implementation framework, a senior government official said on Tuesday. Liberian Children
Acting chief government spokesperson Ngosa Simbyakula said in a statement issued after a cabinet meeting that the revised child policy takes into consideration new developments that have emerged since the policy was reviewed in 2006 impacting negatively on the welfare of children.
“These include early and forced child marriages, children living with HIV and AIDS, circumstantial children and children and information, communication and technologies, among others,” he said.
The cabinet also agreed to the start of the formulation of the Seventh National Development Plan for 2017 to 2021 as the current development plan is coming to an end at the end of next year. Enditem
