Zambia will join the rest of the Christian community around the world in celebrating Christmas on Friday, December 25 and the New Year’s Day on Jan. 1, 2016.

The Zambian leader, who wished citizens a merry Christmas and Prosperous 2016, peace and love should prevail during the festive season, according to a statement released by presidential spokesperson Amos Chanda.

Lungu said people should find time to spend with their families and extend their help to those in needy during the festive season.

Meanwhile the Zambian leader appealed to motorists to be extra cautious on the roads to avoid accidents during the festive period.

He regretted that the country has continued to record high road traffic accidents despite his administration improving the road network. Enditem
