Zambian official hails job creation by China-funded milling plant, TAZARA memorial park

A local councillor of Chongwe town in Lusaka province of Zambia praised the job creation after the completion of a China-funded milling plant project and the TAZARA Memorial Park.

Ntandabale ward councillor Kapichila Chawinga said this in an interview on Monday.

Chawinga described the construct of a milling plant and the TAZARA Memorial Park in his ward as an employment opportunity.

He disclosed that, the China-funded milling plant would create employment for the locals and provide ready market for farm produce.

He also said that, the construction of the TAZARA Memorial Park in his ward would add value to the area. According to him, direct and indirect jobs would be created once the projects are completed.

He said the memorial park which was being constructed as the final resting place of the Chinese nationals who died during the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway line in the 1970s.

He said, the memorial park would enhance entrepreneurship because other sectors such as the hospitality industry would come on board to provide accommodation and other hospitality services to the tourists that would come to the park. Enditem
