Lungu made the remarks at State House when he swore-in new ministers.
Some analysts earlier said the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) might fail in next year’s elections due to discontent among citizens over unfulfilled promises made ahead of the 2011 general elections.
Critics also pointed to the current social and economic situation as the mining industry is suffering from high cost of production and falling copper prices, causing many lay-offs.
Lungu won the January presidential poll that was called following the death of former President Michael Sata.
