Zambian President Edgar Lungu on Wednesday said he was determined to ensure that development reaches all parts of the country.
Lungu, who called for enhanced development of rural areas, has since directed all provincial ministers to be effective in ensuring that national resources reach people in the remotest parts of the country.
In remarks delivered when he chaired a cluster meeting on economic diversification and job creation, the Zambian leader said his government remained resonate in its mandate to take development to the grassroots to reduce poverty and development inequalities.
“We want to take power from the center to the people, from Lusaka to the provincial headquarters, and eventually the districts and the remotest of our settlements,” he said.
He commended provinces for the progress made to support the aspirations of the governing party in the implementation of development programs. Enditem
