Zambian Vice President Inonge Wina on Monday challenged youths in the country to explore the market opportunities in honey in Europe and China.
The Zambian vice president said there was a vast potential in the youths that should be optimally utilized to boost productivity and production in agriculture, aquaculture and agro-processing as well as livestock production.
The youths, she said, should take advantage of the 20 million U.S. dollars honey export deal to the European Union (EU) as well as the Chinese market that has opened, according to a statement from her office.
She stressed the need to utilize the youth potential to grow the honey industry by boosting both production and productivity of honey for export to China and Europe.
The Zambian vice president however urged young people to accelerate the formation of honey cooperatives in collaboration with relevant government departments to facilitate production, standards and market access for honey and other products. Enditem
