Zambia’s year-on-year inflation, as measured by the all items Consumer Price Index (CPI), was recorded at 7.9 percent in January, its statistics agency said on Thursday.

Daniel Daka, acting director of the Central Statistical Office (CSO), said the annual inflation remained unchanged from December last year.

The statistics agency further revealed that year-on-year food inflation was recorded at 8.2 percent in January, compared to 8.1 percent in December last year, while year-on-year non-food inflation for January was recorded at 7.7 percent.

However, month-on-month inflation increased by 0.3 percentage point from 0.8 percent recorded in December last year to 1.1 percent recorded in January. Enditem
