Highlife musician Felix Owusu marked his Soul to Soul debut as the special guest artiste in the October edition of the monthly event at the award winning +233 Jazz Bar and Grill with untold fervour and a display of talent bringing patrons to their feet on and off the dance floor.
The mellow voiced artiste brought back nostalgic feelings with his hit songs including all time favourite Waben, which continues to be a crowd puller to date. Patrons at the event could hardly control themselves when he surprised them with his presence on stage, bursting into his highlife medleys and dance steps without a hint of rust; a true sight to behold.
In an interview, the artiste described the event as ?beautiful? and the audience ?very lively?, and added, ?I?ll love to play every month…I?m so happy?. The calm mannered musician who started his music career playing with Bands like Osabrima, Alor, Mag 2, Sappers and Western Diamonds, before going solo, described his first performance with the Kwame Yeboah led OBY Band as ?very good and very professional?. ?Felix also mentioned that he?d like to see artistes like Nana Fynn, Amanzeba, and Kwabena Kwabena gracing the stage on subsequent editions of Soul to Soul. To his fans he advised that they should support artistes to make highlife the basis of all kinds of music and attend highlife events to support the art. The Waben musician has nine albums to his credit and is currently working on his latest of which says six songs have been recorded already.
Kwame Yeboah and his OBY band were spectacular as usual and will be back on Friday 1st November with renditions of various hits tracks from the 70s and 80s with soulful Queen Ofie Kudjoe and David who take turns to captivate the audience with their amazing vocals. On rotation DJs Joe and Paa Kwesi will also be at their best for the seamless switch from live band to Dj.
The next event comes off Friday 1st November and organisers are as usual tight lipped about the special guest but promise a top drawer act who graces large international stages regularly and will enthral the audience to no end. Definitely one not to be missed.
