South Dayi MP Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor has stated that officials engaging in corruption will face strict consequences under a potential John Dramani Mahama administration.

He emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto will be committed to fighting corruption and implementing rigorous accountability measures.

Dafeamekpor highlighted the NDC’s historical stance on corruption, noting that during Mahama’s previous tenure, individuals suspected of corruption were removed from office.

“Any government appointee, be it under Akufo-Ado or Mahama, if you misconduct yourself on the grounds of corruption, you will not have it easy—a new regime of accountability,” he told TV3.

Minority Chief Whip Kwame Agbodza also outlined that the NDC manifesto will address major concerns such as corruption and job creation.

Agbodza emphasized that the manifesto will tackle the issues exacerbated by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), including state capture and widespread corruption.

The NDC will officially launch its 2024 manifesto on August 24 at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium, University of Education, Winneba. John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s Flagbearer, will be the Special Guest.

Attendees will include members of the National Executive Committee, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, Parliamentary Candidates, and distinguished guests from various sectors, including the Diplomatic Corps, Clergy, Civil Society Organizations, Academia, and Creative Arts.

According to a statement from Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, the manifesto will outline the party’s transformational vision for Ghana, focusing on resetting and building a better future for the country.
