Derrick Luckassen, right in action for AZ, has been linked with PSV Eindhoven
Dutch-born Ghanaian international defender Derrick Luckassen could join Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven with JorritHendrix likely to replace him at AZ Alkmaar.
The enterprising 20-year-old defender has drawn the attention of PSV managerPhillip Cocu and the former Dutch international is prepared to swap youngster Hendrix plus 2 million Euros to sign the Ghanaian.
Luckassen, whose elder brother Kevin Luckassen has officially declared his intentions of playing for Ghana, has excelled in 7 league games for AZ and has been influential in their Uefa Europa League campaign.
The towering defender, who can also play in central midfield as well as lateral defence, has been grown through the AZ Alkmaar youth ranks and only made his senior debut for the club last season scoring from a wonderful free-kick strike in a 3-1 triumph over ADO Den Haag.
He is the second of three brothers who are all footballers. His senior brother Kevin Luckassen plies his trade with Czech Republican side Slovan Liberec while the youngest among the trio – Samuel Brobbey joined FC Twente U19 side in July from Heracles Almelo.
Brobbey has represented the Netherlands at U15 and U16 sides. Derrick himself has represented the European side from various youth levels up to U21 side.
