From all over Ghana and neighbouring countries, the Ashanti tribal Kings will convene in Kumasi Football Stadium for the great celebration. Each King is attended by a small court of wives, relatives, grooms and warriors, each sporting their best traditional garb. The Kings are adorned by all kinds of golden jeweleries, for which the Ashantis have always been renowned.
Each party takes place in the stadium oval under red ceremonial umbrellas (the temperature is over 40° Celsius in the shade), while drummers and dancers contribute to the growing frenzy of the crowd.
