Yesterday morning the Silverbird lounge was packed as the maiden edition of the 4syte Hip-Hop awards was launched and its logo unveiled. Many artistes and media people including but not limited to J-town, Okyeame Kwame, E. L., Richie Mensah, Scientific, Jeremie and Jay Foli were present. The ceremony, even though it began a few hours after scheduled time, was a beautiful one. The organizers did a good job of keeping it short and simple. Even the ushers and the waiters were very efficient in making sure that everybody present was comfortable and feeling cool despite the blazing midday sun. From the turnout at the launch one may safely assume that the actual event would be a success. However one can only hope. If God permits and everything goes as planned the 4syte Hip-Hop Awards, organized in conjunction with Y107.9fm would take place in the dome somewhere in the last week of June.
