The Ghana international was part of the side that suffered play-off final heartbreak at the hands of Norwich in May as the Canaries reached the Premier League promised land.
However, Boro have bounced back to mount another promotion push this time as they remain top with a two-point advantage.
And Adomah, 28, is hellbent on finishing the job and avoiding the playoff lottery this time.
He said: “We got so close last season but fell at the last hurdle. Everyone was heartbroken. You could see it on their faces at the end of the game.
“We’ve bounced back and started the season well. We are in a good position and hopefully we can maintain it. We really want to finish in the top two because we don’t want to be in the play-offs again after what happened last year. Hopefully we can get automatic promotion.”
