Mr Yaw Asiedu Duncan, Executive Director of Purlieu, addressing participants at the launch, said the app provides information on business meetings, sports, parties, meet-ups, concerts, festivals, workshops, arts, and theatre.
Explaining the reasons behind the development of the app, he said: “If we have a platform where scores of people meet frequently, then the tendency to generate revenue from adverts and promotions [could be] very high”.
Mr Duncan said Purlieu can help one chat with the promoter of a programme for clarification and confirmation of a programme on the app.
He said the app also gives one the direction right to the venue of a programme.
The Executive Director said the app provides a platform for event organisers to place their events to the general public while it also helps event attendees to find places of interest to hang out.
Mr Duncan said even though, the app is for android users only, changes will be made later when it becomes very necessary.
He said the events are rated from five star and below to make users of the app decide which event is suitable for them.
