Angola’s National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) validated Wednesday in Luanda the proposals submitted by Sonangol, Italy’s ENI and France’s TOTAL for oil exploration in the Namibe and Benguela sea basins.

The bids, submitted as part of the international tender for the oil exploration of the Namibe and Benguela sea basins, launched last September by ANPG, were presented to the public on Wednesday.

On the occasion, ANPG Executive manager Natacha Massano said that the signing of the Concession Agreements will take place on April 30, 2020 after qualification and the evaluation of the proposals followed by the negotiation process.

The tender for the exploration of the Namibe and Benguela sea basins comprises 10 blocks, with an area of approximately 55,387 square kilometers.

These are the first 10 areas out of a minimum of 55 to be tendered under the 2019-2025 National Bidding Strategy.

ANPG held in September roadshows in the cities of Luanda, Dubai, Houston and London promoting the bid. Enditem
