ANOPA project gears up swimming competition

The ANOPA (Agoro ne Obra Pa) Project a Sport for Development NGO will participate in the national swimming championships slated for Kumasi later this month.

And as part of their preparations for the competition, their have intensified their training aiming to laurels and confirming their status as a major powerhouse in swimming in Ghana.

The championship is slated for October 30 ? November 2 in the Ashanti regional capital where some of the best swimming talents in Ghana will gather to compete for honours.

Public Relations Officer of the ANOPA Project, Sarah Naa Lankai Lamptey said in an interview that her outfit is well poised to cause a sensation at the event as it seeks to showcase some of the talents they have been developing.

We believe we will make a great impact by affecting the general attitude of Ghanaians towards sports in general and swimming in particular at these championships, highlighting the efforts we put in unearthing talents and making great impacts through sports.

The swimming championship promises to be an exciting event as the organizers seek to explore more avenues of unearthing talents to boost Ghana quest of competing on equal footing in major international competitions.

The ANOPA (Agoro ne Obra Pa) Project a Sport for Development NGO based in Cape Coast and its core mandate is to offer life and leadership skills to children and young adults through sports in schools and communities.

The NGO uses seven different sports (swimming, basketball, taekwondo, volleyball, soccer, tennis and handball) as a mobilization tool, with the aim of impacting children and young adults positively.
