Assembly members of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA) have unanimously endorsed Mr. Albert Boakye Okyere, as the Assembly’s Municipal Chief Executive.

The 25 members made up of elected and government appointees all voted to confirm the nominee.
With the confirmation, Mr. Okyere would be serving the Assembly in the MCE position for the second time.
He was the first MCE of Ashaiman in former President Kufuor’s administration but served for only eight months due to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) inability to win the 2008 election.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, for nominating him and appreciated Assembly members for their vote and pledged to work cordially with them to bring the needed transformation to the Ashaiman Municipality.
Mr Okyere, who is the NPP’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, said improving sanitation and checking indiscipline in the Municipality would be his priority.
