Andre and Jordan Ayew are yet to write to the Ghana FA of their return to the Black Stars
Andre and Jordan Ayew are only considering writing to the Ghana FA to officially announce their return to the Black Stars, their spokesman has said.
The sons of Ghana legend Abedi Pele announced their decision to return to the national team after meeting with Ghana?s President John Mahama.
The Ayew brothers also met with the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II where they assured the King of their return to the Black Stars.
But the Olympique Marseille duo are yet to officially notify the Ghana FA of their decision to return as the country?s President John Mahama demanded of them when they met him, the Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Ghana FA vice-president Fred Crentsil.
The official letter has been made necessary as they wrote to the Ghana FA to withdraw their services from the Black Stars after they were left out of the Black Stars squad for the 2013 Nations Cup.
The Ghana FA are expecting this official notification which was one of the KEY issues agreed on when they met with the President last month.
They also promised the country that they will officially write to confirm their return after the Ghana FA urged them to reconsider their decision when they withdrew their services from the Black Stars.
Now contrary to what the Ayew brothers promised the country?s President John Mahama and Ghanaians, spokesperson of the Ayew brothers, Fiifie Tackie says the duo will consider this option only because it is being demanded by the federation.
?We thought after meeting the President and Otumfuor the matter ends there,? he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
?As to them (Andre and Jordan) writing to the FA I am not sure that was agreed at the meeting but if that is what they (Ghana FA) want we will look at it,? Tackie said, seemingly rubbishing what the Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil confirmed happened when they Ayews met the country?s President.
The revelation made by the spokesperson appears to display some sort of intransigence even though it is not known whether this statement by the spokesman has the blessing of the Ayew brothers.
Their verbal announcement is inadequate to seal their return to the Black Stars as that was not the mode of communication used when they decided to leave the team.
