The 2009 and 2010 Hajj pilgrims will be paid in their LGAs

Pilgrims who observed the 2009 and 2010 pilgrimage in Bauchi state will be refunded excess fare paid, the Bauchi State Muslims’ Welfare Board said.
The board, in a statement signed by its Information Officer, Alhaji Yakubu Lame, in Bauchi on Friday said it has concluded plans to refund the excess fare paid by 2009/2010 pilgrims from the state.
The board had, in September 2011, received N70 million from the National Hajj Commission as refund to the pilgrims.
The 2009 pilgrims will receive part payment of N7,000 each, while 2010 pilgrims will collect N10,000 each. The board directed pilgrims to visit the headquarters of the councils in their Local Government Areas to receive the refund.
“Pilgrims that paid their fares through the headquarters of the board would be paid at the premises of Games Village in Bauchi Metropolis,” the statement read.
“Affected pilgrims are advised to report to their various pay points with their international passports and other travelling documents.”
