The Bibiani-Ahwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly?s attempt to elect its Presiding Member (PM) ended in a stalemate as none of those who filed their nomination to run for the position could garner the required two-thirds majority backing.

This forced the assembly to hold another round of voting to try and break the deadlock but that was also inconclusive.
This time round the pair bagged equal number of votes ? each secured 26 votes.
At that point, the assembly decided to postpone the election to a later date.
