British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.18 percent, or 64.72 points, to close at 5,415.50 points.

London Stock Exchange Group, a British-based stock exchange and financial information company, soared 6.89 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Hikma Pharmaceuticals and J Sainsbury increased by 4.64 percent and 4.20 percent, respectively.

Legal & General Group, a British multinational financial services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 10.05 percent. Rolls-Royce Holdings, a UK-based engineering company, dropped 9.59 percent. Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, fell 8.99 percent. Enditem
