A Burmese migrant worker has confessed to the killing of two British tourists on a Thailand Island resort, police sources said Thursday.
The suspects matched the description of three individuals spotted on CCTV near the scene of the crime.
A police source told dpa late Thursday that they were now awaiting the result of DNA tests.
The murdered tourists, a man and a woman, were found on the beach last week at the island resort of Koh Tao, 350 kilometres south of Bangkok.
The couple, both 24, suffered extensive injuries to the head and neck.
In the past five years, 13 British tourists have been murdered in Thailand. More than 4 million Britons visited the country in the over the same period.
