Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye, Ashanti Regional Commander, has applauded the vital support of the public in fighting crime and said this must be sustained.

The people should be bold and continue to provide useful leads to the police to track down criminals.
At a press soiree at the Regional Police Headquarters, DCOP Boakye said significant progress was being made in efforts at reducing crime in the region and that had come about on the back of the strong collaboration and co-operation of the people.
The expectation was that all would continue to play their part well to promote law and order.
He pledged their resolve to work hard and with passion to assure everybody of their safety.
DCOP Boakye used the occasion to counsel the officers and men of the regional police command to refuse to be part of anything that would create image problems for the Police Service.
He urged them to uphold high level of professionalism and said that was necessary to win public trust and confidence.
The Regional Commander recognised the enormous co-operation of the press and said they were eager to build on the partnership.
He said measures would be taken to ensure a more effective, fruitful and enduring collaboration to bring discipline and sanity to the society.
DCOP Boakye urged journalists to be circumspect in their reportage and avoid writing stories based on rumours and gossips.
He said stories should be factual, accurate and balanced.
