Mum is the word from the Nigerian Army regarding Friday morning?s attack at the Apo Legislative Quarters, Abuja, by suspected members of the Boko Haram terror group.

The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-Gen.  Ibrahim Attahiru speaking Friday insisted it was a State Security Service (SSS) led joint operation, which helped to foil the attack.

The army spokesman also declined to comment on allegations that the attack was masterminded by a retired senior army officer, pointing out that the SSS Spokeswoman, Mrs. Marilyn Ogar had spoken exhaustively on the matter.

He said that Army’s position is encapsulated in the press statement issued by the SSS and would not comment further on the matter.

“Marylin has spoken on this and gave a detailed account of what happened. She has given you the full details; anything the SSS told you today covers all the parties who took part in operation,” he said.

And obviously reacting to the Friday incident, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has warned all property owners and developers within the nation’s capital against harbouring squatters or miscreants in their uncompleted structures.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Mr. Muhammad Hazat Sule, stated that henceforth, owners of such uncompleted buildings would be held responsible for the actions of miscreants found in them.
