The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) has reported the death of its General Secretary, Pastor Harry Mettle.
The General Secretary passed away at his Ablekuma residence on Tuesday.
Leader of the GCPP, Dr Henry Lartey who confirmed the death to Citi News said funeral arrangements were yet to be announced.
?Pastor Harry Mettle has been a very supportive member of thebparty. We got the news at a short notice. He went to bed and didn?t wake up the next morning. It is very unfortunate as we travelled with him round the whole country setting up our constituencies,? he said.
Dr Lartey further disclosed, ?He was very hardworking and loyal and it is a shock to the whole family. We went to meet some of his family yesterday and we are waiting for them to gather their thoughts and how to sort out the funeral and burial rites. We shall all try to give him a befitting burial?.
The GCPP was founded by the late Dan Lartey, a veteran Pan-Africanist and also the exponent of Ghana Industrialisation, and the propounder of the concept of DOMESTICATION; Mr Dan Lartey was also the main architect of the OPERATION FEED YOUSELF during the General I.K.Acheampong regime.
The party is now led by his son, Henry Lartey who contested the 2012 presidential elections.
