Global Media Alliance Positions for Growth

Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company (GMABC),operators of e.TV Ghana, Happy FM and YFM Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi, has initiated plans for a strategic lunch pad into the West African sub-region. As part of these plans, the company has partnered with Kagiso Media of South Africa. Kagiso Mediajoins already existing partner, Sabido Group also of South Africa.

A new executive management team has therefore been put in place, headed by Mr. Akwasi Agyeman. He will be joined by Mr. Naveen Singh of Kagiso Media as Head of Radio for GMABC, and Mr. Malebo Phage of Sabido Group as the Head of TV at GMABC.

Naveen Singh joins GMABC with over 20 years of broadcasting experience in all levels of the media business. He has worked with the largest commercial stations in South Africa winning numerous awards. Naveen’s role at GMABC as head of radio is to create great listening options for the audience and deliver innovative and impactful campaigns for GMABC clients.

“Through YFM in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi and Happy FM, we want to be Ghana’s best radio stations” Naveen declared.

Malebo Phage is a professional broadcaster with more than 31 years of radio and television experience and a passion for training in the news and television content. He has worked for the South African Broadcasting Corporation, Radio and TV Bophuthatswana and recently for South Africa in different capacities ranging from strategy, Policy, Regulatory and content management. Malebo has also developed and executed training for television channels in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana and hasserved on the boards of GMABC, Botswana and the South African Communications Forum (An ICT industry lobby group).

Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of the Company and current president of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) stated “We are really delighted with this new partnership and the foray into new markets.
