Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP presidential campaign and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode?, who made the accusation while briefing journalists, said Buhari committed the greatest form of corruption in the country when he was in government.

He also accused Buhari of supporting Boko Haram with his utterances, adding that the greatest form of corruption in his view has is one in which a man pulls out a gun and puts it on the temple of democratically elected President in the country.

Fani-Kayode said: “If you really want to talk about corruption you need to look at the people around Buhari. I will also want to point at them. Look at the record of Bola Tinibu at Lagos State, was it a corruption free administration? ?Look at the record of Amaechi of Rivers State, who has closed down the courts in the state simply because he doesn’t want certain action taken against him. For the last few months, no courts has operated there.

“Look at the person of Buhari, he did not only steals everything in government but steals the seat of that person, takes it with the barrel of a gun and becomes Head of State. Buhari did that in 1983.

“Look at what happened in PTF; look at what happened in various affairs of influence where Buhari operates. Ask questions, clean yourselves first before you point fingers at other people. That is what I said to them.”

He continued; ?But having said that, ?it is very clear that this government is working within the confines of due process. There is no way, this government will turn its back on the fight against corruption. What is different today is that this government will not pursue or go after people who were convicted on the pages of newspapers. Nobody will be arrested or prosecuted simply because you are in the opposition.”

In response to former President Olusegun Obasanjo?s accusation that President Jonathan’s government mismanaged the nation’s foreign reserves, Fani-Kayode said President Jonathan has nothing to hide or be ashamed of.

According to him: “What I will say about that, is that our leader and father, President Obasanjo is certainly entitled to his views and we thank God that we have a President that welcomes the views of everybody about everything and anything. They can live in the comfort of the fact that nobody is going to be too hard on them in terms of responses.

?We continue to learn from Obasanjo and we continue to believe that he is a loyal party member that he claims to be, we believe that he is a loyal party member. We sincerely hope that what he has said is an attempt to make us better in the future. I really don’t want to ?say too much about this issue but I will say that this president and this government has nothing to be absolutely ashamed of when it comes to the issue management of funds of this country. There are answers to everyone of these questions.”?

Fani-Kayode said that PDP will carry out its presidential campaign across the country, including Chibok, adding that contrary to the position of the opposition on the security situation in the North-east, the federal government has made progress since last year.
